> Rap Band success in Burnham
Support from Highbridge Community Radio Project fosters Burnham-on-Sea rap band success.
This trio of prospective music college students – Jay, Keron and ‘Junior’ – from Rap band ‘Typical Grafters’ were having problems finding a suitable practice venue, until the recent Highbridge Community Radio Station came on the scene.
Having played live twice on their pilot broadcast, they now have a venue and gone on to better things. Since the their recent Youthfest appearance at Burnham’s Manor Gardens, they have been given a booking at the prestigious three day Buckfest 2010 (where attendance exceeds 6,000), alongside seasoned performers such as Antigua Joe, Stomping Dave Allen and 355 (a new London band recently signed by EMI).
Singer/songwriter Ben Pang’s management Invited them onto the bill. Ben Pang said “It’s great to be recording
live at Buckfest, and releasing my album (Where Guitars Go to Die) on the same day. I look forward to seeing these lads in future years enjoying the same sort of success.”
“My management and recording company (Mad Monk Records) have always supported young acts, after all they are the future.”
