> New family project for Williton...

22.07.10

As you know, Family Connections is all about families and their communities... and we’ve got another project planned to help families create a film documenting all that Williton and Watchet have to offer...

On 23/24/26/27 August families will have the opportunity to interview local businesses, organisations, charities, schools and service providers (eg. Williton Children’s Centre, West Somerset Council, Danesfield School, Police Community Support... and any other ideas you may have) about what they do. We want you to celebrate Williton and Watchet and all they offer.

There’s lots to do both in front of the camera (interviews) and behind (directing, sound, lighting etc.) so it’s great
if you’re a budding presenter but we need a production team too!

As part of the week we’ll also be helping families to enter the West Somerset Council Amateur Photographer
of the Year 2010
competition...

The categories are:
Your Favourite Landscape/Seascape

Your Favourite Day Out in West Somerset

West Somerset Works
(ie.people at work in Somerset)

So get you’re thinking caps on!

The completed film will be showcased at a very special event. Family Connections is in the process of organising a screening of a ‘blockbuster’ film in Williton. It will be a family-friendly film, FREE of charge and on your doorstep. The film night is likely to take place in September and will showcase your film before the ‘blockbuster’ is screened.

We’ll be looking forward to getting as many of the community there as possible...

PLUS... we’ll be capturing lots of information during this week to make a digital time capsule, showing a snapshot of what Williton and Watchet is like now. The time capsule will take the form of a website where all the articles are stored and will exist in years to come. It’ll consist of videos, letters written from youngsters saying what they would like to see in the community in the future, photographs, the weekly newspaper etc. You can even document things like awards or a trophy by taking a picture. If you have ideas of other things you would like to upload to the digital time capsule, let us know.

If you’d like to get involved please contact Kirsty and state what day/s (am or morning) you are available (please state Williton Outreach in the subject header), or call 07722 420139 and leave a message.

If you have any other question or are unavailable for the dates, please still get in contact and we’ll see what we
can do!
