> Family project for Williton starts Monday...
As you know, Family Connections is all about families and their communities... and we’ve got another project planned to help families create a film documenting all that Williton and Watchet have to offer...
On 23/24/26/27 August families will have the opportunity to interview local businesses, organisations, charities, schools and service providers (eg. Williton Children’s Centre, West Somerset Council, Danesfield School, Police Community Support... and any other ideas you may have) about what they do. We want you to celebrate Williton and Watchet and all they offer.
There’s lots to do both in front of the camera (interviews) and behind (directing, sound, lighting etc.) so it’s great
if you’re a budding presenter but we need a production team too!
For more information about this activity please

> From Different Parts
This West Somerset project from the Somerset Rural Youth Project may be of interest to young people in Williton (and Watchet)...
It involves assisting local young people to lead and take part in innovative research, media and intergenerational activities, documenting people’s journeys, migrating to West Somerset, and the history behind the area using media, literature and research skills.
“From Different Parts is your chance to get involved with the Somerset Rural Youth Project, working on a range of themes that will contribute to three different final pieces – a short film, a pamphlet and a small toy that will be distributed to partner agencies, stakeholders and friends and family...”
This project will allow young people (aged 13-25) to meet with and learn from members of their community, interview senior citizens, document their experiences and gain a new form of accreditation for their efforts...

> Two days filming for Williton
Family Connections is going to be opening for two days (Thursday & Friday 3/4 June) for you to be able to film… anything you want!
If you have a hobby, we can film it! If your child has a hobby, we can show you how to film them. Whether this is that you all love playing on the beach, skateboarding, gardening, ballet or painting? We can be flexible with the location so if your hobby is something that can’t be brought to Danesfield School, we could come to you as long as you live in Williton or Watchet.
We’ve got the equipment and the knowledge so let me know if you’re interested in popping in over the two days, tell me when you can make it and I’ll do the rest!
Contact Kirsty | 01278 455649 or 07722 420139 as soon as possible. When all the places have been filled, I will create a waiting list and arrange another day for filming in the summer holidays.
Hope to see you soon!
